Summer Vacation Must-Do List

Summer vacation is just around the corner.  If I am totally honest with myself, I feel an equal amount of excitement and trepidation at the idea of having my kids at home full time.

Yes.  I love spending lazy summer days with my kids…  but I also dread the lack of formal routine.  I know my kids, especially my girls, need some form of summer school, to help them catch up in math.  For my sanity, I will need new summer job charts and a plan for maintaining a clean home.  And I will need time for the kids to occupy themselves and for me to work (hopefully somewhat uninterrupted) each day.

Our family doesn’t have the extra income to send our kids off to expensive day camps, so planning for a great summer comes down to me.  I need to use ingenuity and resourcefulness if I want to make this summer worthwhile.

This week and next, before the kids are done with school… it is my goal to come up with a plan.  A good workable plan.

It starts today with the creation of our “Must-Do Summer List” which will happen when the kids get home from school this afternoon.

I saw the idea of making the list together and hanging up where it can remind and inspire on The Giver’s Log.  When it’s done, I’ll be sure to share.
