Owl Embroidery Template

I’m halfway done with my Halloween pillow.  My fabric stash failed me when it came to finding the right piping… or ruffle maybe.  Dang.  I think it needs to be a brown… but not a check, since the orange is a check.  It looks like I need a quick trip to the fabric store.

I was happy I had the pompom trim in my stash, left over from another project.  It was just enough with only 1 inch left over.  Talk about cutting it fine.  I think I may need to tack down the pompoms since they seem to want to curl inward, but I love how they look.

For those of you who asked, you can click here to download my Owl Embroidery Template.  It’s not super fancy, just my tracing, but it works.  I still think this would look wonderful as a brown work.

I got a canning Monday today… grape juice and jelly.  I am working on our Halloween costumes in between.  It should be a good day.

This easy to make tote is so versatile you’ll wonder how you lived without one for so long. The Bag for All Reasons is a simple sturdy little bag that could….

Or maybe a visit to the library.  This cute bag pattern has nylon mesh hidden in the handles and fusible fleece lining the bag for reinforcement, this sturdy little bag can easily handle the weight of a few books.

How about taking it to school? My niece loves her new bag for preschool, it’s just right for bringing home schoolwork, art and treasures.

The Bag for All Reasons is happy just about anywhere you take it, be it a church tote, or a meeting (well maybe not happy at a meeting ; )) to the tutor, or as a simple bag to carry your latest sewing, knitting or embroidery projects.

I’m even working on a few Halloween totes for my kiddos to use as their Trick-or-Treat bags. The straps feel comfortable on your shoulder and are not too long to hold in your hand.

The pattern includes step-by-step instructions with full color photos and diagrams.  A template is provided for creating a darling butterfly embellishment, but you can customize your bag with any embellishment that really speaks to you.  My girls wanted monograms.  My niece’s bag has a darling apple for her school bag.

A Bag for All Reasons Pattern is easy to follow and suitable for a beginning sewer with some experience.  It’s also a fast bag to make and can be whipped up in a few hours or less. Click here to view a sample of the pattern.
