Quilt Market: Part Three

It’s the last of my photos of Quilt Market to share, starting off with a quilt featuring a Kona Solid cascade.

I love how each strip has it’s own quilting pattern.  Seeing the gorgeous range of color from Kona always make me happy.

Do your feet hurt by now?  Mine did.  Nothing fixes that better than a little sherbet ice cream from Jillily Studios booth.  What a fun and delicious booth theme!

I loved the booth by Allison of Cluck Cluck Sew.  I love her blog and her quilts.  We got to hang out a little bit at Market… and she was so sweet and fun.

My mom just made two of Allison’s patterns for baby girl twins and loved the patterns.  She made Kaleidoscope and Chain Reaction.  My mom said the patterns were well written and easy to follow.

This Cluck Cluck Sew quilt pattern is called Sugar Dish.  I love it… and not just for the name.

Jaybird Quilts are so interesting and lovely.

Triangles… you don’t see a quilt with this geometry everyday.

This quilt makes me think of a spool of ribbon falling.  Very cool.

This cute little squirrel was from a delightful booth from Birch Fabrics.  They are 100% Organic Fabrics with very fun prints.  There were several companies with Organic Fabric lines.  I love seeing them, since cotton crops use A LOT of pesticides typically.  In fact I’ve heard over 25% of pesticides used in the US are used on our cotton crops.  Aaargh!  The organic trend is wonderful to see.  I just wish the price per yard would go down.

Here’s a sweet little scene.  Perfect for a little boy.

I love the Vanagon pulling a trailer.  We used to have both of those when I was little.  Oh the memories!

Oh, I do have a special place in my heart for cherries!  This cheerful quilt pattern is from sisters Heather and Megan from Quilt Story.

Last but not least, it’s Sandi Henderson’s booth.  Yes, I do have my eyes closed.  I have a special talent for shutting my eyes for pictures.

Sandi took Double Booths 1st Place.  Considering the competition, that is very impressive.

She had lots of fun little touches to her booth.

Like her super cool orange heels, hiding under the sofa.

But what I liked best is that she created her booth using LOT of thrifted items.

It goes to show that with hard work, ingenuity and a trip to the thrift store, you can have a beautiful… even award winning look.

Congratulations Sandi on the award.  It was well deserved.  I loved all your little girls dress patterns and your new fabrics.

Well folks, that’s it for my Market photos.  If I would have shown them all, I think I might have crashed my site.  I hope they are as inspirational to you and they are for me.  Now I just want a date with my sewing machine.

Have a lovely weekend!

Quilt Market: Part Two

It’s day two for my mini Market tour.  It will take longer to get through the sharing the pictures than it did to get through Market!  I ended up with so many photos from Market, I am amazed.  It made me pause and remember the days of film.  How careful I used to be in taking a photo… knowing how limited a roll of 36 photos was… and how expensive good developing could be.  Thank heavens for progress… and digital cameras.

I’ll start off today with Amy Butler’s booth and the quote she shared.  As I sit by my window looking out over my wet, green garden and the mist rolling down off the mountain… I think it’s a good quote.

Here’s Amy Butler’s booth.  Her booth was very stylish and lovely.  Is her new line made from organic cotton?  I wondered, but didn’t get to talk to her to ask.

Here’s Aneela Hoey‘s (from Moda) new line.  It’s a lovely line that reminded me of Autumn days at the park with my children.

I met Aneela at one of the Market parties, which was very fun.  Here I am in the photo with Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter, Aneela, of course, and Erin of Two More Seconds… and also host of the upcoming Sewing Summit.  Even after flying across the pond and more than halfway across the country, and setting up a booth at Market, Aneela was delightful.

One of my favorite new lines at Market was Sew Cherry by Lori Holt from Riley Blake.  My mom has told me, more than once, that her mother’s kitchen had cherry wallpaper.  Whenever I see cherries, I think of my grandmother.

I also loved Farm Fresh from Riley Blake… but didn’t get any great pictures of the fabric.  It would make a perfect baby quilt… but also has some nice basics in the line.

I loved this quilt… but didn’t get the name of the designer.  Does anyone know?

I also love Lecien… even if I can never remember how to say their darn name.  This Japanese fabric company knocks my socks off.  I always love the feel and texture of their fabrics.

This booth stopped me in my tracks.  Happy laundry patterns!  I’ve been working on my own version of a clothes pin bag pattern… and this one is just too fun.  It’s from Kathy McGee called Karin Laundry Room Patterns.  LOVE IT!  Who wouldn’t want to iron with a cover so bright and happy?

Here’s another booth that stopped me in my tracks.  This is Liesl Gibson, designer of Oliver + S.  Her clothing designs for children are my very favorite.

Her patterns now go up to size 12, which means they will fit my girls for 4 more years or so.  The dress at the top, second from the left is a must make.  I would wear a dress like that.  Liesl told me she just finished a line of woman’s patterns for Simplicity.  Hurray, I can make something for myself!

My girls would look so sweet in this dress!

There were lots of projects from Liesl’s new book, Little Things to Sew in the booth.  It was all wonderful.

The booth by Piece O’Cake Designs was such a bright cheerful place.  I love the pots of flowers… especially the double handled pot in the bottom corner.

The little girl dress pattern is very fun and perfect for summer.

Last up for today is Joel Dewberry‘s booth.

As usual, he has lovely, sophisticated fabric designs.  The color combinations are always stunning.

This time around he had dress patterns for women designed by his lovely wife Laurie.   I loved the darts in this dress… subtle and interesting.

That’s it for today.  Are you sick of Market?  If not, I have one more day of lovely inspiration to share.
