Baby Isaac’s Car Seat Cover

Our family was blessed with a new baby nephew this past November.  He is the sweetest thing, you just want to kiss his chubby little cheeks.  But being a bad (or busy) Auntie, I am just getting around to finishing a gift for little Isaac.

During the Winter I loved to keep a blanket over my babies’ car seats to keep them warm, asleep, and safe from germs.  But I never thought of adding straps to a blanket so the handle could remain free.  These days I see covers like this at the store and think how clever today’s new mothers are!

This project was such a pleasure to make.  I love the fabric, called Grass Menagerie by Michael Miller.  The polka dots were a Michael Miller too.  It was fast and simple, and turned out exactly how I hoped.  For all who are interested, I will be posting a tutorial on Monday.

  1. This is a great idea! I can’t wait for the tutorial! I know a few people having babies soon, I think it’d be a really good present :)

  2. I am expecting a boy in 8 weeks and would love to make one for his car seat. Wish I had one for when my little girl was still small enough to fit in her car seat. She is now 2 1/2. Anxiously awaiting Monday…

  3. Just finished one for my soon to be born little grand daughter…so easy and adorable! I would love a printable version of the pattern…I am sure I will be making more….:)
    Thank you so much!!
