Be Joyful Always…
I don’t have any finished projects to share today.
But I am in the home stretch of my “Be Joyful” embroidery, thanks to the few minutes I’ve had, before games and at half time, during a busy soccer season. One last flower and a few last accents and I’ll be done.
I’ve enjoyed every minute I’ve worked on this embroidery. I love the admonition… be joyful ALWAYS. Pray and give thanks. It’s been like a mantra for me as I’ve stitched.
I’ve made more than my share of mistakes on this embroidery. Stitching on the essex linen was a bit of a challenge for me, since it likes to send the needle off my line just a fraction. I’m not an expert embroiderer, so this embroidery has taught me a lot. I’ve never done more French knots or lazy daisy stitches ever.
I’ve loved it so much that I’ll be starting a new one this week… one as a gift and one for my home.
If you are interested in the pattern, it comes from Amy of nanaCompany.
Calli, it is exquisite and I don’t see any mistakes! I love the textures in this piece and the message is such a good reminder…thank you!
love it .. are you working on linen ?
It’s called Essex Linen by Robert Kaufman – it’s linen/cotton blend. The color I’ve used is called flax.
this is really beautiful. I used to be able to do this type of handwork until my eyes got bad..You did a wonderful job on this…how I miss all this…
Wow! Absolutely gorgeous. I’ve got to make this!
Hi Calli,
There are many reasons I’m glad you’re my visiting teacher. You inspire me in many ways and are such a good example. I need to make it to your site more often. And I think I need a good sewing project like this one. Maybe you can help me start something. :)

You did a great job!
This is gorgeous Calli! I love the linen you used it has such a great tone and sets off your stitches beautifully. I just noticed the tiny smiley face down there in the left hand corner. Did you do that?
