Oh My Stars! Quilt Pattern
Oh My Stars! Quilt Pattern is now available.
This quilt was created by my mom, Leslie Ison. The wonderful stars are made with triangles pieced in the sashing.
It may look daunting, but it’s actually easy and fun to make.
As my mom pieced together her quilt, she kept thinking of her mother’s favorite expression,
“Oh My Stars!”
It was the perfect name for this cheerful quilt.
My mom’s quilt is made with bright red stars and lots of fun and wacky 1930’s scraps.
But there are so many types of fabrics that look wonderful with this pattern from pastels to brights and even Civil War fabrics.
Since your scraps need to be at least 5 inches, this quilt can be made using charm square packs.
It is the perfect quilt to use up your scraps.
Oh My Stars! Quilt Pattern is for a throw quilt size 50″ x 68″, but you can easily customize the size by adding or subtracting rows. This pattern is suitable for a beginning quilter with some piecing experience.

Beautiful quilt and beautiful photography!
Oh I just love your quilt pattern. Stars are my favorite and I love how scrappy you made yours. Gorgeous pictures as well. :o)
Have a wonderful week. Sincerely, Trish
I love your quilt!! I took a class from your Mom at Gentler Times years ago and we made this quilt, it is still one of my favorites. GOOD LUCK with the pattern.

It is fabulous. Leslie is so good. Her quilts are meaty and luscious.
Wow, that’s beautiful, and very clever, those triangles in the sashing. Well done! I’m also loveloveloving the styling on the old pickup–super jealous! :)

What a clever quilt pattern. I would have passed it over if you hadn’t said how easy it it. I looked closely and I think I could even do it. Great web site.
Beautiful quilt! I can see this with blue stars and a mostly blue palette.
I love this quilt (swoon!) and have pinned it to my “Quilty Goodness” board on Pinterest (with proper credit, of course!). Feel free to follow me if you’d like: http://pinterest.com/lipglass/quilty-goodness/
I keep coming back to this quilt – sooo pretty! Can you tell me how many charm packs are required to make this??
Thanks!
Pretty quilt!
I made a Star pattern Christmas quilt just like this one, at least 10 years ago!! I used Christmas fabric “charms” … that was before Charm packs came out!
I’m trying to remember the pattern designer, I still have it. Only difference in mine is fabric, I used a cream print with gold for the stars.
Love this quilt. I have so many scraps and I am always looking for a good way to use them up. I love the simple straight line quilting. Was this machine or hand quilted? Did your mother change thread color each time she stitched through the red stars?
[…] tied together by a unifying solid, usually as a background. This quilt by my friend Calli, called Oh My Stars, is made from a wide variety of scraps, with the red stars as the unifying […]
