Rocky Mountain High
Well friends, I’m headed for the Grand Tetons. And I can’t get that John Denver song out of my head…
“Coming home to a place he’d never been before…”
I’ve gone to the Tetons on vacation almost every year of my life… and there is something about those mountains that just makes me feel like I’m coming home… like I belong there.
So I’m off to hike a few beautiful trails, float down the Snake River, and hopefully catch a Cutthroat or a Rainbow or two. I hope the mosquitoes don’t eat me alive. I really hope I see a bear. I hope the kids get good and dirty. I hope I have a chance to read my book by the banks of the river. I know I will enjoy a few days of being unplugged.
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature’s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees.
The winds will blow their own freshness into you…
while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.
-John Muir
See you next week!
