Cupcake for a Cowboy
My favorite little cowboy is turning one year old next week. His name is Sean and his mom, Cherie’ is one of my dearest friends. I wanted to make him something special for his big day. How about a bib for him to wear while he eats his birthday cake?
I never made bibs for my own children and now I am wondering why. I could have made some darn cute ones. Plus they are easy, fast and cheap. I would have definitely made a few out of the vinyl coated fabrics available at some quilt shops. They would be so easy to wipe clean.
To make Sean’s bib, I used a remnant from another project for the chambray. The cupcake was made from a cowboy fabric charm pack.
It is reversible so it can be used for everyday. I think the Alexander Henry Cowboy Fabric is beyond cute.
I used an old bib pattern of my mother’s but here is a simple small free bib pattern you could use. Or this Bib looks a lot like the one I made.
The cupcake applique was from a quilt pattern, from Bunny Hill Designs called Party Cakes. But there is a perfect free cupcake applique available.
Check out the picture of my sweetest niece Chesney wearing a birthday bib for her first birthday. She is a girl after my own heart and knows a good cupcake when she has one in hand…
