Blogger’s Quilt Market Meetup!
Saturday night was the Blogger’s Quilt Market Meetup. After three days of Market Madness, I thought everyone (especially me) would be a little tired…
Are you kidding me? This is Quilt Market! I’ll sleep when it’s over!
Thank you to all of you who came! The turn out was SO wonderful, we were bursting at the seams.
Back in November, when we started planning this Meetup, we thought we might have 50 to 60 people join us for a get together. As it turned out, we far exceeded our capacity with as many as 150 friends (maybe more)!
Lucky for us, the afternoon thunder showers cleared out just in time for us to spill out onto the patio.
The Meetup was the perfect chance to see old friends. It was also so fun to meet friends whose blogs I love and have never met before in person.
On the lower right it’s me with Sachiko from Tea Rose Home. She is even nicer in person than on her blog! Is that possible? The other photo with me is just after I met Kari Sweeten from Ucreate. I feel like we know each other from email… she is just as lovely as she appears in writing. We are with the DIY Dish girls in the photo. They are SO much fun. Kris of the DIY Dish is opening a quilt shop in June in Logan with her husband. It’s called My Girlfriend’s Quilt Shop. It will be a worth a trip to Logan this summer to see it!
It was also a chance to meet some of our favorite designers, editors and quilt shop owners.
I only wish I would have had hours more to meet and talk with everyone!

Our sponsors giveaways were incredible! Making Memories gave away not one, but FOUR Slice Fabriques.
Sugar Town Quilt Co. gave away an awesome Beach Cruiser Bicycle. Are you so jealous? Me too! But it couldn’t have gone to a nicer mom and daughter team, Alex and Ronni Chavez, who blog over at The Road Home Quilting.
Other fabulous giveaways included books, fabric, gift bags, thread, and gift certificates to our favorite online quilt shops.
Our sponsors also provided wonderful goodies for the swag bags!
Between the good food and all the wonderful people, it was perfect night.
Did you come? Did you blog about it? Be sure to head over the The Quilt Market Meetup Site and link up! Or post your pictures on our Flickr pool.
Tomorrrow, I’ll begin posting photos of Market. It was inspiration overload. It may take a few days to post all the wonderful things I saw.
It was such a great party, Calli! You guys did an amazing job with organizing everything. Thanks so much!
I heart my Slice!!
I came and it was a terrific gathering! I’m now saving pennies for my very own Slice! I blogged a smidge about it.
Hmmm…this makes me want to start quilting and/or drive across the country for the next Meetup! I’m digging that Slice Fabrique!
Wow sounds great. I’m not a quilter but you make me want to be one.
There seems to be a problem with the pictures in this post. Your stuff is always so interesting that I hate to miss anything. The first collage is up but number 2 to 5 are blank. After that they all work. And is the copyright band meant to be across the the post?
