Happy 4th
Wishing all my fellow American friends a Happy 4th of July. I took this photo from our back patio a few days ago. The Wasatch front can have such lovely Summer sunsets.
This was a photo we took last night from our back patio.
We are spending an uneasy 4th of July, as a forest fire burns the mountain behind our home. Our neighbors just down the street have been evacuated. Luckily we haven’t been and I doubt that we will be.
This is the roof our neighbors home and a photo we took from our front yard of the fire this afternoon. The photo cannot capture how truly terrifyingly large the plumes of flame and smoke are.
We are praying for calmer winds and cooler temperatures. We pray for our neighbors whose homes are nestled against the mountainside. Most of all we are praying for the firefighters and pilots that are in harm’s way working to save homes and keep us safe.
You might not realize it but we are all so sadden with the outcome. Colorado is the state that I would want to live in and to see the loss of so many homes it must be so difficult for everyone. You will never forget the smell of a fire.
The pictures we have seen are so heart breaking. My thoughts are with you and your community. ((Hugs))
Calli,
Praying that the fire stays up in the forest and away from you and your neighbors home.
Praying for the fires to be controlled and extinguished. I know your pain as we were threatened by fires in Virginia at the end of Spring. It is terrifying to be so helpless.
We’re praying too, every day. I live 50 miles north of you, and we’ve had a little bit of rain today…I hope you’re getting it too! Best wishes.
While we suffer from extreme 100+ degree temps in Michigan – it is no where near the suffering all of you in Colorado are facing with these fires.
Praying for you & all in your community — for less wind, for RAIN, for peace of mind & heart.
Praying that everyone stays safe. I can’t imagine what the people in your area of Colorado have gone through.
We’re just on the other side of the point of the mountain from you, it was a very sad sight when we saw the new plume of smoke coming up. The firefighters here in Utah and the surrounding states have been working so hard this season, hopefully they get a break soon.
The flag picture os breathtaking! Makes me tingle with pride to be an American! Hope all is well with you and your neighborhood – we have been keeping our eyes on it since my brother and my sister live out that way! Just keep praying!
By the looks of those pictures it looks like the fire got pretty close to you guys
