New Summer Dress

I am so excited to give you a sneak peek of my very first dress pattern.

I wanted to design a stylish swimsuit cover up dress for my girls.  But I also wanted it to be fast and easy to make.

The pattern is being tested in different sizes to make sure the sizing is accurate.

This dress can be made quickly and doesn’t take a lot of fabric.  In fact the one I made in the photo took only 1 yard- which is easy on the pocket book as well. Another feature of this pattern is how easy it is to get a perfect custom fit.  Since my girls are so teeny tiny, mostly in width, this is something I love in a pattern.

The pattern will include sizes 4 – 12 and will be suitable for a beginning sewer with just a little experience.

It will be ready for the Make it Do Pattern Shop later this week.

I just have one MAJOR problem left.  A name.

Naming this dress might even be harder than making it…  In fact if you have any ideas I’d much appreciate hearing them.  I’ll even send you the pattern if you give me an idea I end up using!

  1. Way Cute! And the answer to my daughter’s question last week of “Can I get a cover up for my swimsuit.” How about
‘EZ Breezy Cover-Up’ (I know – Easy Breezy Cover Girl comes to mind.)

  2. So pretty…when I first saw the picture, I thought “aloha, summer!” I think it’s the perfect summer dress:) (on perhaps the perfect summer girl!)

  3. How about “Simple Summer Dress”? (If someone was looking for a dress like it, they’d likely “Google” the words “simple summer dress” or something along those lines…)

  4. I LOVE it! I would love to make this for my girls. How about something like “Simple Summer Halter”.
