I was hoping to share a few finished projects today.
But instead everything is still in progress.
Orange Glazed Poppy Seed Bread… lots and lots of bread today to give as gifts. This bread is sooooo good.
Also in the works is lots and lots of Stovetop Potpourri. Who knew that finding cinnamon sticks in bulk would be such a challenge? ‘Tis the season I guess.
With any luck it will look something like this:
I have the same problem in my neck of the woods trying to find Cinnamon sticks! Ugh, who knew!?
Oh man, how I love your site. Keep up the good work, I’m adding this gem to my google reader account. Thanks for sharing the love!
Becca
Your post just reminded me about your orange glazed poppy seed bread. I made it last year and it was a HUGE hit with everyone I gave it to. Have you ever tried freezing it?
I haven’t frozen it before. I don’t have a large freezer, so I’m always a little limited on freezing opportunities. But my friend who freezes a lot, said it froze for her just fine. I hope that helps. Cheers, Calli
What about Sunflower Market or Whole Foods? We have a store here called Sprouts that sells spices in bulk. Cinnamon sticks are $26 a pound. I bought 9 sticks today for about $2. They also sell whole cloves in bulk. Good luck!
I just found your blog and I’m loving it! Added you to my sidebar too ; )

My husband just bought some cinnamon sticks at Costco.. Try there. :)
Thanks Linda! I found them there!
Calli,
How have you packaged your potpourri to give it away–I was thinking for neighbor gifts. Thanks!
Some stores have ethnic sections with good size bags of cinnamon sticks at resonable prices.
Yes, I too would like to see how you package the potpourri for gifts. Is there a “recipe” tag or something?
My blog reading, as always is a bit behind. I wish I had known about that sale from you and Amy’s blog. And your christmas preparations look lovely. Yummy oreos.
